Famed romances, fairytales, and the world of theatre inspired a recent collection from Murlong Cres, a woman-owned Scandinavian brand.
For the Winter 2021/2022 collection, a collaboration between Kaja and influencer Mina Marlena, timeless love stories inspired timeless pieces. Fabrics were chosen, patterns were drawn by hand, production was underway, and the photoshoot was scheduled in California. All that was left: weaving the narrative to tell the story behind each piece. Armed with a list of love stories and basic product specs, I got to work.
Luckily, Pride and Prejudice, Romeo and Juliet, and Sleeping Beauty are all stories I know well––and love. Project descriptions and social media captions came together in days, with few revisions needed due to a smooth flow of communication and a clear vision for the collection. Here’s what we ended up with!
